PASTOR'S CORNER

Divine Visitation

Isaiah 60:1 says ‘Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you…’ This was the message for us at the beginning of this year. Throughout the year, we have also had monthly themes and sermons,
such as Achieving Your Life’s Assignment; Goodness and Mercy; The Spoken Word; Developing a Spirit of Possibilities; Absolute Dominion, No Limits; Standing Your Ground; Divine Intervention and Well-being. The discerning among us would have realised that these signposts were indicators of the things that God had and still has in store for us. He was gradually revealing His blueprint for our lives to us and enabling our dreams to come to fruition.

As the year draws to a close, we may begin to reflect on our seemingly limited achievements and the missed opportunities. We may have goals and dreams, which we may not have achieved yet. We may feel that our prayers have gone unanswered, but Luke 1:13 says, ‘…fear not…for thy prayer is heard…’

Often, we are oblivious to the fact that God has already gone before us and straightened the crooked paths, so we may doubt God’s promise to us. His word reveals that He makes everything beautiful in His own time. Ultimately, God’s promise to us is a resounding yes and amen. We must remember that ‘…the Lord is faithful to all his promises… (Psalm 145:13) He shall bring it to pass. It shall be done. Isaiah 55:11 confirms that God’s word shall not return to Him unfulfilled, so we have no reason to doubt His ability. There is nothing that is impossible for The Almighty. He delivered us from a great deal this year. Therefore, He will not disappoint us.

During this year we have been preparing ourselves for an encounter with the Lion of the Tribe of Judah. A visitation from The Most High attests to His glory and presents the occasion for a manifestation of the performance of the prophetic word of God.
We serve a God, who reveals His glory when it would be most effective. Evidence of this can be seen in Exodus when He led the children of Israel out of Egypt.

A visitation from God always follows the promises, which He sends through His prophets. It is the sum of or the end result of all preceding events. In our case, among other things, He taught us to rely on His spoken word for a divine intervention, which would ensure our well-being.

He assures us in Psalm 89:34 that, ‘…my covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that has gone out of my lips…’

Luke 1:45 says ‘…there shall be a performance of those things which were told…from the Lord…’ Luke 1:78-79 says ‘…through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us…to guide our feet into the way of peace…’

God visits His children with the intention of performing His word and redeeming them from a sub-standard existence.
A divine visitation is a positive experience. God’s word reveals that He sent His word before us in preparation for the year. Therefore He has not forsaken us.

‘Arise shine…’ This month, as the year draws to a close, let us continue to trust in God’s word. May His face continue to shine on us as the Dayspring visits us. May His glory be revealed now and always.
