Making it happen

Hi everyone, welcome to a year of greatness and multiplication. This year, your dreams must and will be fulfilled. As we make the transition into the New Year, I bet that a lot of us have started to or if not already made some New Year Resolutions and are determined to stick with them. But over the years the world over, people have made resolutions that have not lasted more than 3 weeks and so have become frustrated and abandoned their goal and vision. I want to share with you 5 things you can do to make your dreams, goals, aspirations and vision come to fruition this year. I want to share with you how to make it happen.

Let's look at a woman in the bible who made it happen by these principles. Ruth 3:1-18: If you read the above verse, you will find out that in verse 6 the bible said "She went down to the threshing floor and put her mother-in-law's plan into action". It shows that the outcome of Ruth's life was dependent on her following the instructions of Naomi. Praying alone will not get an answer from heaven unless we put into practice the divine instruction that God lays on our heart. You see, there's a certain protocol involved in walking with God; once you learn it, the things you're waiting for suddenly begin to happen in your life.

  • Step 1: Have an agenda:
Ruth had an agenda. She wasn't looking for just any man; she had a specific one in mind. And because Naomi had done her homework, she was able to tell Ruth where to find him. Listen: '…he is winnowing barley tonight at the threshing floor.' Proverb 4:26 says "Plan carefully what you do, and whatever you do will turn out right. Research what you want from God before you start 'naming and claiming' things.

The reason why we fail in goals and dreams is apart from the fact that we do hear from heaven, we never take the time to sit down and plan with God how to execute the vision. Sometimes we even pursue what is not really God's agenda for our lives. If your name is not on it, don not pursue it. Do not go after something just because it looks good on somebody else. Set out an agenda and with careful planning pursue it this year and it is yours.

  • Step 2: Wash it off:
RUTH 3:3 WASH THYSELF "Naomi told Ruth to wash herself. Why? Because in order to gain favour with Boaz, she couldn't approach him looking and smelling like Moab. She needed to wash away her past so that it didn't threaten her future. There is no future in the past. You can never live in the present and create a new and exciting future for yourself. The fact that you failed last year is not an indication that you are a failure. You must wash last year off and look towards this year with a new vigour and hope. Pro 4:25 Look straight ahead with honest confidence; do not hang your head in shame. (GNB). God will open doors for you, but until you have dealt with your past, you would not be ready to walk through them. You cannot receive what He has for you now if you're still stained by what you went through in the past. You can not enjoy what God has for you today, until you l eave behind all your emotional baggage of yesterday. So get up and wash it off!
  • Step 3: A new attitude:
Ruth 3:3 ANOINT YOURSELF. In Bible times, people anointed themselves with oil to feel refreshed and renewed. So when Ruth anointed herself, she was in essence putting on a new attitude. To reach the right altitude, you have got to have the right attitude! God wants to bless you, but your attitude can hold you back. If you are praying for a good job, or a suitable partner, or God's favour in a certain area but it has not happened yet, do not automatically blame Satan - check your attitude. Romans 12:2 (Phillips). The Bible says, '…let God remake you so that your whole attitude…is changed…' You cannot control the beauty of your face, but you can choose the expression on it. You cannot control life's difficult moments, but you can choose how you will respond to them. You cannot control the negative atmosphere of your world, but you can choose the atmosphere of your mind. Attitude draws people to or away from you. Your living is determined not so much by what life brings to you as the attitude you bring to life. Nothing can stop the mind of a man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can stop a man with the wrong mental attitude.
  • Step 4: Get into place: "GO DOWN TO THE THRESHING FLOOR "RUTH 3:3 'positioning' is so important. Ruth got into proper position by going down to the threshing floor, because that's where Boaz ('the blesser') was. In Genesis 12:1-3 God told Abram to get out of his country and from his family house before he can bless him and make his name great. Sometimes a positional change will make way for a situational change and you need to get into place if you want what God has for you. Satan will do everything in his power to make sure that does not happen. He will keep you feeling down and depressed; that way you will never move toward your God-ordained destiny.

It is good to love the people you are with, but when God calls - you may have to change addresses. Furthermore, when you do make it to your final destination, you may feel like a misfit for a while. You may be uncomfortable and lonely, because when you leave familiar surroundings it takes time to adjust to new ones. Perhaps you know God called you to your present position, but you still feel out of place. You may even feel as though you have no right to be there. Dismiss those feelings; for whom God calls, He equips, and whom He equips, He uses. He has more potential invested in you than you could realise in a lifetime! Didn't He tell you He would do a new thing? (Isaiah 43:19) Didn't He say you will be the head and not the tail? (Deuteronomy 28:13). Well, it is starting to happen, so get into place and stay there!

Step 5: Understand that God wants you to succeed.
God delights in our success, what parent would not? 'What is success anyway?' you ask. It is the progressive achievement of a God-given goal, resulting in feeling good about your life. This is your year and if you follow these steps you will be released into a great flow of the anointing and blessing of God for your life. Remember this is your year of multiplication and abundance. Speak it, believe it, act on it and it will come to pass!!!
